NATIONWIDE STRIKE: Doctors Suspend Nationwide Strike

The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has set out to suspend its strike set out on since Sept. 4. Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment said this in an instant messages (SMS) sent to Labour journalists on Thursday morning in Abuja. It would be reviewed that NARD set out on an across the country inconclusive strike to squeeze home a six-point requests which included non-installment of compensation overdue debts, sacking of some of their associates, non-installment of
"skipping'' qualification and the avoidance in IPPIS stage.
Ngige said that the SMS was marked by Mr John Onyebueze, President of NARD. He said that the striking doctors in Nigeria have consented to suspend their 10-day old modern activity.
He said that the doctors were coordinated to continue work across the nation on Friday 8 am neighborhood time.
"The union made plans to suspend the strike and to re-survey the circumstance in two weeks at its Annual General Meeting in Abuja.
"The suspension is because of the endeavors so far made by the administration in tending to the things on the notice of their final offer.
"This and in addition actualizing the substance of the re-arranged reminder of settlement,'' he said.
The doctors activity is however coming similarly as the Joint Health Sector Union have pulled out to start an uncertain strike on Wednesday one week from now.
In the interim, Dr Onyebueze John, Presidnet of NARD, affirmed that the strike has been assembled off after a conference of the official chamber late Wednesday night. An announcement from John said the specialists would meet again in two weeks to reassess the circumstance.
"The National Executive Council of NARD met from 6:00 pm Tuesday, twelfth September to 12:15am Thursday, fourteenth September 2017 to audit the status of our across the country strike and the offer from Government in the re-arranged Memorandum of Terms of Settlement (MTS) with Government.
"After due thought of the endeavors by Government and advance made in tending to the things on the notice of our final offer, and strike, and additionally executing the substance of the re-arranged MTS, NARD made plans to suspend her 10 days strike, and to reassess circumstance in two weeks at our AGM in Abuja," the announcement peruses
