Another church attack in Anambra

Gunmen on Sunday attack at the Assemblies of God Church, Oguta Road Onitsha, Anambra State killing one policeman and a regular citizen, Punch reports.

An eyewitness account said the shooters had incidentally ceased at the Church, however observing some policemen at the congregation, opened fire on them.

"At the point when the terminating turned out to be excessively hot, the policemen surrendered their watch vehicle and fled for wellbeing.

"The shooters moved to their watch van and took a firearm having a place with the policeman they executed.

"I saw two of the shooters however I can't state what number of they are in number.

Another observer stated, "Shooters on Okada (bike) shot a policeman and gathered his rifle. They likewise shot dead an Okada man while getting away, and the traveler he was conveying was harmed. The policeman was the one furnished among his partners; they were giving security while church benefit was going ahead at Assemblies of God Church, Oguta street Onitsha.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar affirmed the episode to writers.

He said it was not an assault on the congregation, including "My men were on watch close to the congregation when they were assaulted by some shooters. It was not an assault on the congregation, in the genuine feeling of it".
