GISTSMARK.COM - President Muhammadu Buhari has acknowledged his assignment as pioneer of the "2018 AU Theme on the Fight against Corruption'', his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina has said.

Buhari was assigned by African pioneers at the 29th Session of the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments of the AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on July 4.

The presidential assistant said Buhari's acknowledgment of the designation was contained in a letter of thankfulness routed to President of Guinea, Alpha Conde.

Conde is the present Chairman of the Assembly of Heads of States and Governments of the African Union.

"While saying thanks to you for the kind words and for the designation, I wish to express my preparation to acknowledge this new imperative part and to repeat my sense of duty regarding contribute toward our aggregate endeavors to fortify great administration and improvement on the landmass.

"I, in this way, anticipate working intimately with you in the acknowledgment of this goal,'' the President kept in touch with Conde.

He additionally expressed gratitude toward President Conde for the across the country supplications held a week ago by Guineans for his recuperation and great wellbeing.

Buhari, who had prior made a telephone call to Conde said "I thank you for your kind and keen activity in sorting out across the country supplications for my great wellbeing.

"It is a signal that I will perpetually appreciate and treasure.

"Your Excellency will be satisfied to hear that I am gaining great ground, and when specialists exhort, I should come back to my obligations and keep serving the Nigerian individuals who chose me and are day by day appealing to God for my recuperation.''
