Real Madrid slip from top as Barcelona lose to Celta Vigo

La Liga Update

Barcelona suffered their second loss of the season away to Celta Vigo in a seven-goal thriller. Marc Ter Stegan gifted Celta the first goal after a terrible error as his intended pass to Sergio Busquets was intercepted by Iago Aspas who found Pione Sisto to score the match’s opener. Another defensive error by Barcelona saw Aspas, who assisted the first goal, found the back of the net to surprisingly put the home team two goals up.
Aspas was a handful for the Catalan club on the night as he latched onto a counter attack after Luis Suarez ball was blocked to force a Jeremy Mathieu’s own goal. It was 3 – 0 to Celta at half time. As expected, Baulgrana rallied back in the second half as Gerard Pique’s glancing header revived the contest before Neymar scored from the penalty spot to make it 3 – 2.
