– Nigeria will play Luxembourg on May 31 The Super Eagles of Nigeria managed a one goal win over the Eagles of Mali at the Stade Robert Dichon in Rouen, France. A Kelechi Iheanacho strike in the 77th minute gave Nigeria the much sought win over their West African neighbours.

The goal also gave the player spectacular accolades from his club as a Tweet was posted congratulating the 19-year-old.
The last time these two teams met was at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal, where the Nigerians thrashed the Malians 4 – 1 on their way to winning the trophy for a third time

Most of the regular faces in the Super Eagles were missing in the encounter as some were allowed to feature at the Joseph Yobo Testimonial which went down in Port Harcourt. The international friendly was aimed at preparing the three-time African champions for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, which begins in October. The Nigerian contingent will now depart France for Luxembourg for another friendly against the national team of that country on Tuesday, May 31.
